Meet Joshua Ansley
Joshua Ansley is taking his creative talents and experiences and looking to be of service to his fellows. With a background as a classically trained actor in London, a playwright in NY, a filmmaker in Los Angeles, a yoga instructor in Mexico and a professional touring rock musician, he has a variety of skills to share. While he is humorous and creative, he is also deeply moving and looking forward to working with you on your latest project.
Joshua Ansley’s career has been as diverse as his musical tastes and styles. As the original bass player for Streetlight Manifesto on their debut album ‘Everything Goes Numb’ his work was lauded as a lead bassist, helping to advance the emphatic sound that he had begun on his Victory Records debut with Catch 22 on the underground favorite ‘Keasbey Nights.’ As a Capitol Records Recording Artist in the band HURT he found a smoother, more mature style while working with drummer Evan Johns and learning a great deal from Evan’s legendary producer father, Andy Johns. Joshua has been main support on arena tours with Alice In Chains, Staind, 3 Days Grace, Breaking Benjamin, Seether, Army of Anyone (Stone Temple Pilots/Filter supergroup) and more.
Joshua is now working on his own project ‘The Least of Thieves’ as lead singer, bassist and guitarist with members of all his previous projects. The power and style of ‘The Least of Thieves’ is indicative of the wide range of flavors he has encountered living and touring in places like London, Mexico and all over the United States.
Alongside his musical journey Joshua has always loved storytelling and has a BFA from Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University where he studied abroad at the London Academy of Theatre at The Globe. He has written, produced and directed his own play written in iambic pentameter as well as several short films- most recently directing a music video for the band Human Zoo.
As an author he has recently completed the book, ‘Fuck God: The Spiritual Guide for Assholes, Atheists and Intellectuals.’ Joshua has been studying and experiencing various spiritual modalities for over 20 years including Yoga, Vedantic philosophy, Christianity and Mayan Shamanism among others. He is a 500 Hour Registered Yoga Teacher leading retreats and Teacher Trainings and is the Spiritual Advisor for dual diagnosis addiction/behavior health recovery centers after working through deep levels of his own addictions and traumas and returning to a place of more wholeness and completeness in every day Life.
